On Thursday June 17th, the Ottawa Built Heritage Advisory Committee (OBHAC) received a heritage briefing on the Lansdowne Park Redevelopment Plan by John Smit and John Stewart and rejected the plans presented for Lansdowne by adopting the following resolutions:
1. Whereas the Aberdeen Pavilion and the Horticulture Building have been designated by the City of Ottawa as heritage buildings;
Therefore be it resolved that the Ottawa Built Heritage Advisory Committee recommend that Planning and Environment Committee recommend Council respect the heritage designation of both the Aberdeen Pavilion and the Horticulture Building and that neither be moved from their current locations in Lansdowne Park.
2. That the Ottawa Built Heritage Advisory Committee recommend that Planning and Environment Committee recommend Council reject the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) partnership plan because it does not respect the heritage value of Lansdowne Park.
