Vancouverism in Ottawa?

Join Michael von Hausen, President of MVH Urban Planning & Design Inc., a Vancouver based international consulting practice, and Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Urban Studies Program at Simon Fraser University, for an exploration of “Vancouverism”.

For the fifth year in a row, the City of Vancouver was selected by The Economist magazine as the most livable city in the world out of 140 cities surveyed. A major contributing factor to this continuing recognition is its planning, design, and governance framework. Through various plans and case studies, Michael will highlight Vancouver’s urban design, planning, and collaborative model from both a regional and city planning perspective. The presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion that will examine how some of these elements could be applied to Ottawa and the National Capital Region.
